CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF MR.DISMAS ANDURU

The late Dismas Anduru was born to the late Mzee Phillipo Achar and the late Mama Marcela Adhiambo.He was the first born among ten siblings.

He attended Komolorume and Awendo Primary Schools between 1960 and 1970.

After a stint in the family business,he left home for Navaisha where he was engaged at the Kenya Angricultural Research Institute (KARI) as a dairy attendant in 1971.

A year later he proceeded to Mombasa and joined Mowlem Construction Company Ltd where he was inducted into in service training as a structural assistant.After acquiring skills in the said training he moved to H/Young Construction and Engineering company Ltd as a Foreman.He served the company as structural superintendent in various sites upto 1977.

Between 1978 and 1982,Dismas worked as a site Superintendent with the department of water Resources in the then ministry of water Development in Kakamega.it was here when he met and courted Angelin Mukhanyi and finally married her as his first wife.

In 1983 he joined mugoya Construction and Engineering company Ltd as general works supritendent in several sites as National Youth Service Gil Gil,Lanet Barracks,Sacho High School,Kabarnet High School,Baringo Teachers College,kenya Commercial Bank-Kabarnet,Baringo District Head Quarters,Kabarak High School and many others.

It was when working at the sites including at the personal residents of the the President of the Republic of Kenya,His Excellency Daniel Arap Moi,that his commendable workskills was noticed by the president.

When Mugoya completed their projects in Kabrnet,Nakuru and was moving elsewere,the president in recognition of his rare competence,challeged him to incorporate his own construction firm.Together with his former colleagues in Mugoya construction Companny Ltd in 1991.Through this firm,numerous schools,colleges,churches,Hospitals and other projects specifically sponsored by the then president Daniel Arap Moi were constructed all over the country.

All these demostrated the high level of confedence and reliablity he was able to bring and bear on anything he set is mind and energy on.

Through such projects hundreds of people were able to secure employments and training in the construction industry.He devoted his energy and resources in helping countless friends and relatives to pursue education in variuos schools and colleges.A lot more others were able to secure employment in other sectors through hhis personal intervation.

Mr.Anduru had dogged by poor health over the last 16 years necessitating frequent hospitalization.He was diagnosed by Diabetes a condition that is only managed through constant medication.

He succumbed to his condition in the morning of Saturday 2nd September 2006,after collapsing at his home.He was rushed to Nyangena Hospital in Kisii where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

At the time of his death he was a consultant for H/Young construction and Engineering company Ltd at the Sondu Miriu Hydro Electric Power Project.

He survived by his four wives namely Angelin Mukhanyi,Everlyne Atieno,Pamela Auma and Emma Akoth.He also leaves behind 12 Children and five grand children.
